You can read the official Billboard 2021 chart legend HERE. The following is a transcript of the information:
GENERAL INFORMATION
Data for Billboard's sales charts, which include all album charts, are compiled by The Billboard Team from various media streaming platforms where a majority of the Habbo music industry market operates.
All data is complied from the platforms where the entry resides and only what is visible to the Billboard team is tracked. Statistics on views (sales), re-tweets (airplay), and weekly streaming gains are added to an online grade calculator based upon the following tracking system:
All SALES are weighed out of 1,000. Any eligible single with over 1,000 views will receive a point bonus for every 100 views after 1,000.
All AIRPLAY is weighed out of 150. Any eligible single with over 150 retweets will receive a small point bonus for every retweet over 150.
WEEKLY STREAMING GAINS: Every view (on a video streaming platform such as Youtube, Vimeo) is tracked weekly for sale gains. Any eligible single with 15,000 sales (15 views) more than the previous chart week will receive a streaming gain bonus.
SALES
Sales data is calculated and based upon VIEWS on an eligible single/album that is available for public viewing. Only views that are visible to The Billboard Team upon review at the end of the chart cycle will count towards the upcoming chart cycle. Sales are translated to 1,000 sales per view for roleplay purposes. Billboard is NOT responsible for handling any artists suspicious of view tampering. Please understand that there is no way to for Billboard to legally determine that an artist is partaking in such activity without assuming and potentially tarnishing the Billboard company reputation. Billboard's sole responsibility is to calculate the numbers seen based on the detailed chart system provided for the community's ultimate benefit.
AIRPLAY
Airplay data is calculated and based upon the number of total RETWEETS on an eligible single/album that is available for public viewing (Twitter.com). Only retweets that are visible to the Billboard Team upon review at the end of the chart cycle will count towards the upcoming chart cycle. "LIKES" are NOT counted. Twitter retweets force a post on the entire timeline of everyone who follows the account, increasing visibility and engagement on an entry, therefore qualifying it as an official data point.
STREAMING GAINS
Streaming gains are calculated by the increase of sales/airplay an entry has received since the previous chart cycle. Entries with CONSISTENT streaming gains per week will rise/keep stability, as it holds the most points. New entries with high sales debuts and low weekly streaming gains are more likely to lose stability/fall.
