Wow, what a week. From Glastonbury to the addition of two new labels (Queen Productions and Columbia Records), the Habbo music industry has seen a huge surge in activity as everyone gets involved in the latest industry events. We want to make sure you didn't miss anything!
So here are the 10 best things to happen in the Habbo music industry this week
Glastonbury closes out with a bang!: Latest industry event, Glastonbury 2021 was a huge success, leaving the industry anticipating more in-client events. Although there were complaints about the crowd attendance due to the low client activity on Habpop, the event was a huge success in terms of production and impact, with performances from the likes of Ms. Camaraderie, Luna and The Lovers, Drooseph and many more talented artists. Columbia Records open for business: This week, Columbia Records made their industry debut with the signing of 5 artists who includes all three members of girl group, Spectrum. Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Lympic, tweeted that he is serious about bringing in-client events back after the Columbia Headquarters is finished being built, located on Habboon.
Luna and The Lovers 'Ugly' becomes Hot 20's third #1 single: It's been quite the eventful couple of weeks for 'Ugly.' From debuting at #5, being performed at events and promoted impeccably, to dethroning long-time running hit 'Valentino... it is clear 'Ugly' is one of 2021's most successful singles. Being performed in-client at least four times and with almost 400,000 sales to it's name, it is for sure Luna and The Lovers' most successful and impactful single to date, earning Luna her second platinum solo single. Congratulations to Luna on her well-deserved #1!
Queen Productions finalizes Spring 2021 roster: Queen Productions officially make themselves an active label with the signing of eight new artists/socialites. During the event, popular rapper and QP executive, Carmen Fierce, mentioned CHI will be making a comeback in some form of partnership with QP as well. In relation to event location, QP seems to be gearing up to continue hosting events on Boon, as their main problem with other locations have not changed. Sources say their next event is sometime next week.
Jadis Milan gives birth to Baby Boy: On March 17th, 2021, Jadis Milan gave birth to a baby boy at Cedar's Sinai Hospital in Los Angelos. According to Milan Dynasty HQ, Jadis named the baby boy "Prince" and reports are she is loving the mom-life. Congratulations from Billboard to Jadis on the precious bundle of joy!
Billboard cuts radio play impact: Due to many reports and high concerns of suspicious radio play activity (also known as 'payola') Billboard has re-vamped it's point system to lessen the impact of radio play. Radio spins (retweets) are now worth 15% of the overall point grade, leveling out the playing field. Note: None of the accusations of fraudulent activity were proven and therefore can not be discussed for legal reasons.
New media source Rolling Stone: New media source founded by Grey Moncler has skyrocketed into industry favor already, as it looks to become the hub for Habbo Music Industry media. With a full website launch in the works, Rolling Stone has the industry anticipately waiting to see the exciting things to come. Sponsored by Queen Productions, it surely has the backing to be a very successful news source.
JC Margiela's fire comeback: Holy smokes! *fire emoji* JC Margiela reigns supreme with new single 'Time Today' where he discusses private information about what we know now to be Mykki Milan's hidden child. JC issued an apology on Twitter after the Milan family and friends called him out on social media for an invasion of privacy. Mykki Milan released an official statement on Twitter shortly afterwards stating that he will make an on-client statement regarding the controversry.
Jay-Z continues urban development planning for New York City: Well-respected and well-known Roc Nation CEO, Jay-Z, announced on social media he is continuing the development of New York City on Habboon and asked for recommendations on what rooms people would like to see.
